Senior Fees cover expenses including cap and gown, tassel, diploma cover, and the senior picnic.Senior class fees will vary depending on the time of payment, with prices increasing as the deadlines approach. It is advisable to pay early to take advantage of lower rates. Here’s the revised breakdown:

• From September 18th to October 31st: $80
• From November 1st to February 16th: $90
• From February 17th to April 19th: $100
• From April 20th to June 7th: $120

Please be aware that the prices increase over time to cover last-minute order costs, so we strongly recommend making early payments to save money.To make payments, students have several options:

• Cash payments can be made to Ms. Jackson in room B118.
• Online payments can be made at SchoolCash Online (‘Class of 2024 – Senior Fees’).
• Payments can also be made via check, cashier’s check, or money order, payable to ‘Wakefield HS – Class of 2024 Senior Fees.’ Drop off cheque to Ms. Jackson in room B118.

Jostens will be at Wakefield High School on Tuesday, September 26, during all three lunch periods in the Town Hall. They will be offering class rings and graduation announcements.

Yearbooks are currently available for purchase at the price of $80, and you have the option to personalize them. However, please note that as the year progresses, the price will increase, and personalization will no longer be an option. In the past two years, our yearbooks have sold out quickly, so if you want to ensure your child receives one, we recommend placing your order early.If parents wish to purchase an ad for their senior, they can do so online at Jostens.com. Please visit the website to explore the various pricing options.Note:It’s important to note that if a senior does not have a formal portrait taken with the photography company, their picture will not be included in the yearbook’s senior portrait section. The sitting for the portrait is free, but the deadline for this is early, so we encourage students to schedule their portraits as soon as possible.Important Dates to Remember:

• The first yearbook price increase: October 28, 2023 (the price will go up to $100 on January 27, 2024)

Our 12th grade students are permitted off-campus lunch privileges during their lunch block with permission from parent/guardian. Please review the rules and expectations for off-campus lunch and complete the form if you would like your senior to participate in this senior privilege.  During the first week of school, we will be reviewing the permission forms and personalizing ID cards that students will need to show in order for them to be allowed to leave the school building. Therefore, off-campus lunch privileges will begin Tuesday, September 5.Before your senior student can participate in this program, we kindly ask you to review the following rules and responsibilities regarding off-campus privileges:

• Supervision and Responsibility: The staff at Wakefield High School will supervise the open lunch program, and the school is responsible for all students’ behavior and activities during the normal school day, including lunch periods.
• Off-Campus Lunch Pass: Seniors who obtain an Off-Campus Lunch Pass may leave the school grounds during lunchtime. Photo ID or a StudentVue identification is required to leave campus.
• Return to Campus: Seniors are required to return to campus in a timely manner to ensure they are not tardy for their next scheduled class.
• Proper Conduct: Students must adhere to the APS Code of Conduct. Proper conduct and respect for private and public property, both within the school neighborhood and the community, are essential.
• Restrictions: Seniors are not allowed to take underclass students off campus at lunchtime, nor bring back food for non-12th graders.
• Exit Door: Seniors going off campus for lunch should use Door A2 only, where student IDs will be checked by staff.
• Parking: If students are driving an automobile, please remember there is no student parking in the staff parking lot.

The college visit calendar is located in Naviance.  Please check the calendar to plan which college visits you would like to attend.  All college visits take place in room C-128. Students from grades 10 – 12 are welcome to attend.  Students are responsible for making up their work, and must have permission from their teacher.  Please bring a pass from your teacher or counselor to attend.Wakefield utilizes Naviance, a digital planning tool that allows students to search for colleges, assess how their achievement aligns with a potential college or university, and track their application submission process. Sign In Here.

The Senior Project is designed to provide students the opportunity to demonstrate responsibility for their own learning by creating, developing, and presenting a Senior Project. Every project reflects each student’s particular interests, talents, and learning style. This course and student’s projects align with the Virginia Department of Education College, Career and Civic Readiness Index (CCCRI). This index measures, for the graduating cohort, student preparation for college and careers while in high school. Credit is given for advanced coursework, CTE courses and credentials, JROTC coursework and credentials, work-based learning, and service learning. Students demonstrate their ability to research, write, and produce a significant product including an authentic journal, expository essay, audio-visual aids, and an oral presentation. All of this work will be evaluated by a 3- or 4-person assessment panel, which may include a faculty member, a fellow senior, and representatives from the community. Senior Project is a graduation requirement at Wakefield High School.
