Misson and Vision

Mission Statement

It is the mission of Wakefield High School’s counseling department to promote and challenge students to be lifelong learners and reach their maximum potential with the skills necessary to be career ready and have the necessary post-secondary credentials to be successful. The school counselor will act as an advocate for all students and create a comprehensive and engaging counseling curriculum to address the academic, career, personal, and social concerns of all students.  The counseling department will collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure that each student graduates with the ability to be thriving, capable, and contributing members of society.

Vision Statement

The future does not belong to those who are content with today, apathetic toward common problems and their fellow man alike, timid and fearful in the face of bold projects and new ideas.  Rather, it will belong to those who can blend passion, reason, and courage in a personal commitment to the ideals of American society.
   -Robert Kennedy

The Wakefield Counseling Department believes that all students will have the opportunity to be academically successful and will be prepared to meet the challenges and expectations of a changing society.  All students will have access to a rigorous academic program and comprehensive counseling curriculum to reach personal achievement.  The school counseling program is comprehensive and holistic in nature, assisting students as they navigate their unique educational path and work toward personal and emotional growth.  The ultimate goal of our counseling program is that the students of Wakefield High School will graduate with the passion, reason, and courage to engage in meaningful life work, constructively participate in and positively contribute to their community, and reach their maximum potential.
