APS is committed to a culturally responsive workplace that enables us to build and sustain a diverse workforce, champion inclusive curriculum, and close achievement and opportunity gaps for all students and staff.

Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Mission Statement

The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is dedicated to fostering an environment where every individual feels valued, respected, and empowered. Our mission is to promote and sustain a culture of belonging and connectedness within our community, ensuring that diversity is celebrated, equity is upheld, and inclusion is an explicit part of our daily interactions and institutional policies. We continually strive to:

  • Embrace and honor the rich variety of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives within our community.
  • Provide fair access to resources, opportunities, and support, enabling every individual to reach their full potential.
  • Cultivate an environment where all voices are heard, respected, and actively engaged in the decision-making process.

By advancing these principles, we aim to create a nurturing and dynamic educational setting where students and professionals are encouraged to be their authentic selves, fully engaged, and inspired to excel. Our commitment is to prepare all members of our community to thrive in a diverse world, equipped with the empathy, understanding, and skills necessary to contribute meaningfully to society.
