Graduation Ceremony

The graduation ceremony will take place at EagleBank Arena in Fairfax, VA. The procession will begin at 2:00 pm and last about 2 hours.

Student Attire

We ask that senior students dress nicely as this is a special occasion. Suggestions include pants/slacks, dresses, blouse, button down shirt, polo, etc.
Shoes: low heels or dress shoes for your safety (steps from stage can be hard or steep).
Senior students may decorate their cap in a school-appropriate manner and should not cause disruption. Caps will be inspected during check-in.

Checking In

Senior students need to report to Wakefield no later than TBD at door A2. Students will check in and be directed to a classroom for alphabetical line up.
Senior students are not permitted to have bags, backpacks, purses, or any other banned items as reviewed in the WHS graduation rehearsal.

EagleBank Arena Information and Regulations for Guests

Doors will open for entry at approximately TBD
Doors will be temporarily closed while students are entering and taking their seats.

The Graduation Program

APS is live streaming the graduation program. The link to the program can be found here: List of graduation dates and livestream links.
Students will not be allowed to carry anything into the ceremony at EagleBank Arena. They will not have a place to store purses or backpacks.

After the Program

APS school buses will return to Wakefield approximately 20 minutes after the program for graduates who need a ride back to Arlington.
During the graduation ceremony, students will receive diploma covers. After the graduation ceremony, diplomas will be distributed. For questions regarding diplomas, please contact Ms. Michelle Hall ([email protected]) in the Counseling Office.
