Wakefield High School Athletic Registration

Earlier this year the sports registration company which was being used for the past years was purchased by Arbiter.  The change in ownership will mean our school along with other VHSL membership schools will transition to the new website.  To help with the transition our students and families who are interested in participation in VHSL athletics and activities at Wakefield HS will need to register in the new system for the 2025-2026 season. We thank you for your patience and help with integration.

All Students who DID NOT participate in Wakefield athletics last year need to be added to the system before they can register. PLEASE Email: [email protected] to add your child to the database. Provide Student ID, full first and last name(s) and grade level for school year 2025-2026.

Students registering for Athletics must have a current physical examination on file with the Activities Office AND the activity registration submitted before the student is authorized to participate in practice/tryouts. To ensure clearance for participation, physicals should be completed and submitted electronically to the Activities Office no later than 3 school days prior to the first day of practice/tryouts.

Physicals must be dated on or after May 1, 2025. Physicals for the 2025-2026 school year will be valid for 14 months after the date of exam.

Players will still be required to get a regular physical exam and provide proof of medical clearance from an approved medical provider (MD, DO, CNP or PA) but the form is different. The state has determined that physicals are now valid for 14 months. In response to this new law change, the VHSL has removed the “May 1 – June 30 the following year” validity rule and now physicals must be submitted every 14 months. (ex: a child who got their physical July 28, 2025 might find that they are all of a sudden unable to play in their game on September 29, 2026 because the physical expired the day before). We are asking that parents be patient with us and work with their providers to make sure they are filling out the appropriate forms required for physicals, as well as help us help you to make sure their physicals don’t expire in the middle of their sports season (by submitting an updated physical before the 14 months ends).

Athletes will still be required to register using the online activity participation website annually (school calendar annually). Online registration for school year 2025-2026 will open on June 30, 2025.
