Wakefield High School Senior Earns Full-Ride College Scholarship

We are thrilled to announce that Tully Andress, a senior at Wakefield High School, has earned a prestigious four-year, full-ride scholarship to attend the University of Virginia through The Posse Foundation.

The Posse Foundation recruits and trains outstanding young people from urban high schools and sends them to top colleges and universities as part of supportive, multicultural teams or “Posses” of 10 students. In addition to the scholarship, Tully will receive comprehensive programmatic support throughout their time in college.

Tully was nominated by his high school counselor and participated in a rigorous selection process, called the Dynamic Assessment Process, from September through December. This process included three rounds of interviews, culminating in a meeting with representatives from the University of Virginia, including the Dean of Admissions, tenured faculty, and the school’s president. Tully was selected through collaboration between Posse staff and the partnering institution.

We are incredibly proud of Tully’s achievement and look forward to seeing all the great things he will accomplish at the University of Virginia.
