Scholastic Art Awards are in! Our students set a new record of wins!!!

The results for the Regional Scholastic Art Awards are in and our very own Wakefield Art students claim a whopping 285 individual Awards!

We also picked up 30/30 Portfolio awards! Portfolios are a thematic body of 6 works that is a visual culmination of 4 years of Art and is limited to Seniors. In total, our students won:

  • 154 individual Gold Keys,
  • 74 Silver Keys, and
  • 57 Honorable Mentions.

They also won 24 Gold Keys, 5 Silver Keys and 1 HM for their Art portfolios.  Wakefield art students were also chosen to receive 3 prestigious American Vision Awards.

  • Aubrey Mahoney for her digital art “vulnerability”,
  • Mason Taylor for his painting, “not ur petting zoo” and
  • Charlie Williams for his photo, “Shadows of Democracy”.

There are 5 American Visions Awards chosen each year from the Scholastic Gold Key winners and are considered Best in Show! These fantastic students will be recognized at the virtual Scholastic Arts Ceremony on Tuesday, March 22nd at 6:30. Also, all 154 Individual Gold Keys and the 24 Gold Art Portfolios will go on to be considered for National Recognition.
