Art History, AP (39151) Full year, one credit + 1.0 quality point Grade(s): 10-12 Prerequisite: None This is an introductory college course in art history that gives students an understanding of works of art within their historical context by examining issues such as politics, religion, patronage, gender, function, and ethnicity. The course also teaches students visual analysis of works of art. The course covers architecture, sculpture, painting, and other art forms, and students learn to view these art works critically, with intelligence and sensitivity, to analyze what they see. The course prepares students for the successful completion of the AP Art History examination. Students are required to take the AP exam associated with this course. Students not taking the exam will not earn the additional quality point. (29151)
