History Honor Society

History Honor Society (HHS) is a club at Wakefield for students who enjoy learning about historical events and their relevance to modern day. HHS meets once per month after school in Room C-302. Student members can decide the focus of the meetings. Some meetings may focus on local history and involve a guest speaker. Other meetings might highlight a national current event and explore its historical roots. Other meetings may involve students reporting on visits to local historical sites, museums, or historically-based performances, plays, or movies. The eligibility criteria for membership in HHS is as follows:

  • Students must be in 10th, 11th, or 12th grade.
  • Students must currently be taking a history course. (Economics courses can satisfy this requirement.)
  • Students must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA.
  • Students must have a 3.5 GPA across all history courses taken at WHS.
