Warrior’s Comic-Con is a one-day fandom and art exposition planned, produced, and staffed by the students of Wakefield High School in Arlington Virginia as a fund-raiser for the school. All proceeds to to Wakefield High School

Arsia Rozegar first broke into the comic book industry in 1999 as a Color Artist on Spawn: Dark Ages and Kiss: Psycho Circus for Todd McFarlane and Image Comics.  Shortly after, he began coloring different comics for Marvel, enjoying extended stints on flagship titles such as The Incredible Hulk and Iron Man. His latest endeavor is as creator and author of an illustrated children’s book series retelling ancient Persian myths and legends called Shahnameh For Kids. Visit arsiarozegar.com and ShahnamehForKids.com to see more.

– The Art Way Alliance
Art Way Alliance is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is: 1) to educate students in various subjects by merging education with popular media art techniques and tropes. 2) to provide everyone with the tools and techniques needed to produce their own creative work. 3) to support artists in the advertisement and marketing of their own work.

Ghostbusters Virginia
Who you gonna call? Ghostbusters, Virginia is the only 501(c)(3) non-profit charity organization recognized by Sony’s Ghost Corps in Virginia that gives back to its community through a love of Ghostbusters.

-Chef, Writer, and Culinary Stylist Ed Hardy
Chef Hardy is the Head Chef at The Farm Brewery at Broadrun and the author of the upcoming Sci-fi Cookbook “Gastronomica Galactica”. He will be joining us at Warrior’s Comic Con for a panel discussion on food in science fiction!

-Chef Cy Fortunato
Chef Fortunato is a chef, artist, cosplayer, and Sci-fi and Fantasy fan that moonlights as a Ghostbuster, on occasion. He will be joining us at Warrior’s Comic Con  for a panel discussion on food in science fiction!

Cosplay

We welcome cosplay, the wearing and adoption of the manner and appearance of your favorite characters, at Warrior’s Comic Con! There will be a cosplay competition, as listed on the schedule above!

However, given that this is a school-sponsored event, there are some guidelines and rules we would like all costumed guests to follow:

  • No nudity. No shirt, no shoes: no service.
  • All props, weapon-shaped or otherwise must be examined by our convention staff prior to entry and will be tagged with colorful tape to denote safety.
  • All props must be of manageable weight with no sharp or dangerous edges. No props may be made from metal (with the notable exception of lightsaber hilts, but not blades.)
  • Given that this is a school setting, and apologizing for any inconvenience, we respectfully ask that you respect our policy of

Students, both APS and Non-APS get a free table next to professional artists, to build connections in the community and learn directly from the pros how to best represent yourself as an artist.
